Mark Wahlberg has always been an actor I think is just on the brink of being brilliant, but kinda misses it. In his big breakthrough performance in Boogie Nights he was winey and uncomfortable infront of the camera, but I think that was kind of the point, yet in later films he still seemed to play second fidle to other actors, most noteably Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon in The Departed. Yet with his latest offering, Shooter, we get him centre stage again and this time he’s ripping off Jason Bourne in what promises to be his real Hollywood landing and a franchise of the quality of The Bourne Identity has been hinted.
